15% alcohol, heavy for Pinot Noir! Low accidity but it still aged pretty well. Beefy and substantial, even strong. Tastes and reminds more of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape than a Eastern Switzerland Pinot Noir. But it was a special year (eternal sunshine from March to October, fish were dying in the rivers so warm did the waters get).
This producer crafts his wines very well, mainly not over-oaking them in new barrels. As a result they age rather well, something which cannot be said of many ambitious Swiss growers of Pinot Noir...
