Gets bumped up as a 2004 Beaujolais is quite the achievement! Red fruit still remained and it had all the hallmarks of aged wine, brown tinge, smoke, mild oxidation and spice. Jacques makes serious Bojo.

My last bottle and showing much better than previously. A testament that these cru Beaujolais can stand shoulder to shoulder with its neighbours in Côte d’Or. Tertiary with still harmonious spice and some dark fruit. No sign of actual fatigue like the previous bottle. A persistent finish too.

Well into its tertiary phase where the red and black fruit is just a memory of the past. In its place is a faded spicy notes and leather bureau. Still highly pleasurable and only 13% alcohol.

Once again, drinking beautifully. No need to wait but can absolutely age even longer.

Sporting a deep hue of red with generous wood spice, mineral and dark cherry. Still has years of life ahead.
