Pale gold. Preserved lemon, lemon balm, toasted almond, acacia, pear skin. Medium-bodied with medium-plus acidity. Honey, lemon rind finish is quite lovely. Best when allowed to warm up slightly. Still perfectly suitable for a place at the dinner table. Drink now.

From a bottle purchased on release, this wine had a deep yellow center and light rims. The medium intensity nose showed macaroon, citrus and apple. In the mouth it displayed nice richness, good acidity, and very nice length. the wine opened nicely with air and was best after 3 hours. I have had a couple older Pernots and I have generally been underwhelmed. This wine, however, was on the money. It is starting to drink and should easily last 5+ years.
