From 2016 notes:"Great nose of honey and white flowers. Palate was crisp, nicely balanced acidity. Incredible mid/back palate length, complexity and creaminess. Secondary flavors started to really shine after about an hour..."
What is notable about this wine, IMO, is how the nose evolves over time. Elegant and expressive, the fruit, floral and batonnage really shines...I probably liked this more than the rest of the crew.
This is a very expensive version of Napa SB, many would argue not worth it and may be a bias against the wine in a tasting like this. That said, great showing on this day

Lunch at Solage with Tom/Juan/Jamie to kick off PNV week. Amazing food and excellent wines...drank along with an 81 Caymus, 95 Dominus, 13 Realm Houyi and Petit Syrah from Jamie (not named...)
Have had Dana's Cabs, first experience with the Sauvignon Blanc. This was open for about 20 minutes when we started, sipped this over a couple hours. The wine opened significantly in that time showing secondary characteristics. Great nose of honey and white flowers. Palate was crisp, nicely balanced acidity. Incredible mid/back palate length, complexity and creaminess. Secondary flavors started to really shine after about an hour.
One of the best Sauvignon Blancs I have tasted (and I have had a lot...). Crisp and complex - would have pegged as a Bordeaux Blanc/Graves if tasted blind. Incredibly good - with price to match...

Reminiscent of a great white Bdx with just a hint of more fruit but not enough to trick you if served blind. Bravo.
