  This wine took us on quite a tour, developing in different directions all night. Will be hard to describe. The colour was MUCH younger than expected, a medium bright cherry red, even on the edge of the bubbles at the pour. Cherry and red fruit aromas on opening and pretty bright and fresh cherry fruit in the mouth, too, with good tannin. The acidity picked up in the first half hour, the fruit faded a little, some leather, then some beef broth. But the fruit came storming back after an hour, became a little more feminine, maybe lacy, delicate and finely woven, with red fruit primarily but just a lovely long finish. Really quite extraordinary, though the height of the experience passed too quickly as the acidity took over again a couple hours in. Extraordinary depths.
