Wonderful showing of complex flavors that changed over the hour of consumption. Flint & brass is one of my favorite notes from this bottle. Reminds me of a gun range at PNP. Once that blows off it's down to business with complex dark blues.
My favorite to date currently is 2010 but this is not far behind. Yummy!

Eight hour slow ox. Very deep brick red color. Fig, dark raspberry, black cherry, and subtle mushroom on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with great acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish. 65% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, 7% Counoise
This is more acid-driven at this stage (and it has aged very nicely). Sierra Foothills fruit (2h east of Napa).

Pulled for NYE. This bottle is drinking wonderfully right now and will continue to develop interest. Drink or hold.

nicely perfumed - flowers and spice. Drinking very smooth - even on PnP.
