{screwcap, 14.5%} Has shifted a little from 'youthful' in colour and aroma, but it's hardly developed. Intense nose of dark chocolate, raspberries, cured meats and a truly 'pinot' character. Solidly medium-bodied, well-balanced and not too oaky, the tannins are quite fine, and the wine coats the tongue evenly. Immensely drinkable, even if it lacks the last word in complexity. Has at least another 5 years ahead of it, probably longer.

Pale; proper Pinot nose, primary, fresh fruit, yet polished; brash, bright, tinny, with aeration & considerable time this quietened, rounded out & improved. Gives this a couple oy years.

This has lost some of its primary fruit and looks more like a Burgundy than denser, more purple NZ Pinot now. Interesting notes of ginger and orange peel on the nose, subdued red fruit. A solid but unexiting pinot flavour - not prminary but no real secondary characteristics either - I don't have enough experience with older NZ Pinots to know if those will develop here. At best, it might be said to be in an in-between phase.

Mixed blindtasting (Henriks appartment): Clear red color. Aromas of strawberry, milk chocolate, liquorice allsorts and a herbacious note. Great fruity taste of primarily strawberry and cherry, and more complexity on the midpalate with chocolate and caramel. But also a herbacious note of bush of leafs.
