  • Medium ruby, garnet rim with bramble nose. Dry with some tart fruit, light acid and light chewy tannins. Light to medium fruit of figs, pine and balsam, mushrooms, damp forest earth with a little bitter. This is one funky wine on the second night, not a lot of fruit and a bit medicinal. Robitussin comes to mind.

  • Medium ruby with garnet rim. Funky nose of brambles and ripe cherries. Light acid and ripe fruit. Doesn't have the acid driven bright fruit of most of the '10s that I like so well. Disappointing, possibly heat damaged or poor cellaring. I gave a second try on night two and this is best for the crock pot with a pork roast.

  • Medium ruby with funk and balsam on the nose. Dry raspberry, earth and barnyard, funky on the PnP, smooths out with some air to brambles and cherries. Medium body and fruit with not a lot of acid or tannins at this point. Past bottles needed some time to come around, 88 on PnP.

  • Medium ruby with some cedar and ripe strawberry nose. it takes a few days to come good after a not too balanced beginning. Most of this vintage has a bright red berry profile, but this is more fruity, pie cherry filling and roast beef. Light acid and tannins with a little bitter on the finish. This one never improved like the others leading me to believe it suffered some heat damage.

  • light garnet with lily nose. Dry mineral, leeks and bell pepper, light fruit and body, low acid and tannins. On the PnP, not really much to offer at this time. Starting to show some improvement with a little air. significantly better on night two with restrained fruit, light acid and smooth but chewy tannins. Pie cherries, ripe strawberries with mineral, earthy funk, not the bright berry acid that other '10s have shown, reminds me of a Biggio Hamina style PN. on the third day this has come really good, lilacs on the nose, soft and mellow with just enough acid and tannins to give interest and compliment the cherry fruit.
