CB: same as note in May or 06. Simple but good, nice finish, consistent, EXCELLENT for the price and would pay twice as much easily.

Not nearly as good of fruit as the previous bottles, not well balanced. The next night, the tannins took over. This is either bottle variation or in a funky phase right now.

TB: Popped and poured. Light purple, almost Barney in color. Immediate nose of some chocolate and funk, with some air black cherries peak out. Black cherries immediately crossed my mind as the wine hits the palate. Medium bodied and nicely balanced. Not much in the tannin and acidity department, but seems to merge nicely with the fruit. Medium finish consisting of more cherries, with almost a chocolate covered cherry hint in there. Extremely nice wine for the price.

CB: I didn't take detailed notes on this wine, but what a pleasant surprise for a $8 wine!! My overall impression was that it was a simple wine but consistent from start to finish. Not only was the last glass as good as the first, but it doesnt seem to fall off at any point on the palate. It even has a small but pleasant finish. Something I have come not to expect from wines that are under $10. It also had a lovely nose to it, not overpowering but not as faint as I would have expected given the price point. It had good fruit flavors with just enough tannins to give it a little backbone. It got even better when I had it with my pasta dinner. The italian spices seemed to bring out some other flavors in the wine. Overall a very very enjoyable wine to have on a week night. I'm glad we have a case of these.
