I agree with previous note that this is surprising and really good for the vintage. Some bitterness, but nice silky smoky dark fruits and bit of ash/dirt. Good effort for 2004 and I would buy more of this at a good price.
This was just great in spite of the vintage, with aromas of dark fruit and earth followed by fresh and vibrant flavors of black cherry and Morey dirt and spice. Very streamlined, so easy to drink. Less New World than other P-M bottlings from the vintage, but still fruit forward. There was some reduction on the nose that never quite blew off that was only a minor distraction -- consistent with a bunch of the P-M ''04s that have shown a reduced nose. Taken together, the 2004 Perot-Minot wines have really aged nicely, with not the slightest hint of greenness.
