  I am not a burg expert, but I loved this. Great balance of funk, acidity and lingering finish. Really gorgeous. Stood out vs. the 2007 Bevan syrah and 2012 Blankiet we also had open. Easily my favorite of the bunch.

  Breathed two hours in bottle. Clear light-ruby color. Attractive nose with flowers and charred wood. Fresh strawberry and hints of leather on palate. Not many burgundy wine would make me love it, but this is the one.

  Aromatic, with a lot of floral notes, cedar, sandalwood, hinoki cypress, sweet ripe fruit core, coulis de framboise. On the palate, tannins still a bit tight. Medium plus finish with notes of spice, licorice.Well-balanced and elegant. Needs time, give it at least five more years. Solid good.
