Earthy aroma, similar to a pinot noir, little bit of cherry. Soft fruits, lingers, just opened so will try it again tomorrow. Some tannins. Good daily wine, especially for $9.

P: Still REMARKABLY astringent, relatives not wanting ANY part of it (which I *can* understand); Will try again... later; // Day 4: Though showing SOME oxygenation, it is MUCH improved with respect to astringency. So, DEFINITELY needs > time, perhaps as long as into '20? 91 pts & "Best Buy" WE (12/31/14) @ $12 [did I pay $8.99 @ COSTCO?], and 86 Wine & Spirits (4/1/15).

N: Closed, but seems ripe, plummy, poss some alch?
P: Med, poss MF, body; EXCELLENT acidity, balanced, some astringency mid-P before evolving into a LONG, slightly spicy finish with the very slightest touch of heat? [As of late Apr '20, wine-searcher shows no sources for this vintage].

Confirming earlier view. Not ideal as the primary wine for a meal, it is a drinkable "second bottle" and good inexpensive option for big groups, etc.
