Yes it’s best days are behind it but I’m guessing it would have lasted until 2016 or 2017 as it’s still in pretty good shape. Colour is dark purple, perhaps with a very faint tinge of brown. Fruit is still there although faint, smoked plum, tobacco and earthy. Suggested drinking age on CT is to 2011 but I’m happy to have picked up a case of 6 for less than £20 a bottle and although won’t be having any left at this time next year.
Edit all 3 of the bottles tried so far have had issues with the cork crumbling so be careful with that.

I am quite familiar with that unpleasant dill note in bottles of this wine. In fact, it was the dominant note in the last bottle I had about two years ago.But when I opened one up tonight, that was gone entirely. The wine remains a bit light but is pleasant nevertheless. Nothing profound but not the undrinkable pickle flavors of an earlier bottle. THe wine is losing weight and depth however so I would drink up.
This was the first of two bottles bought several years ago and has been properly stored since. The cork looked good and the fill level was fine. It was decanted for 90 minutes before serving. I don't know if this wine suffered heat damage during shipment or if it is just a very badly made wine. The nose didn't exhibit signs of oxidation but it was somewhat sour (dirty socks?), vegetal, and not at all pleasant. The flavors were disjointed, coarse, and totally unbalanced. The finish was dominated by excessive heat although the label stated 14.5 ABV. I am astounded that Parker, Josh Raynolds, and Gary V gave it such a favorable review. It is one of the most "butt ugly" wines I have ever tasted. I dumped it and will dispose of the remaining bottle I have.
In June, 2011, I opened a bottle of 2002 Rusden Grenache Christine's Vineyard that I purchased at the same time. While not quite as bad as the Ripper Creek, it was a terribly disappointing bottle. In taking a look at the scores and ratings of the full lineup of Rusden wines in CT, it looks like my poor opinion of their offerings is shared by several others.

(RUSDEN RIPPER CREEK CABERNET/ SHIRAZ) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-unexpected, exactly like sour kraut; TASTE-this is DYNAMITE, sour kraut & pickle juice flavors, mixed w/ raspberry, black currant & a little cassis; I LOVE this wine, horseradish, super interesting; WARNING: many will NOT like this; will last 10-15 years); RP-94; GV-94

Wow, Gary Vaynerchuck nailed this one. Pickle juice nose followed by tart raspberry and black currants. That's exactly it.
