Oxidative nose. Some grip to it. Palate shows some quince/membrillo to it as well as the oxidation. A bit over the hill for me but my husband absolutely loved it going on about the vanilla and orange peel

Burch's BBQ Bonanza (Smokestak): Bit of a perplexing wine. Started off with just a whiff of burnt rubber, but a somewhat clean palate, just a hint of oxidation. Over time the burnt rubber actually got stronger, which I don't think I've experienced before. Perfectly nice drop but hard to get my head around - and I'm not sure i'd want more than a glass.

Dark golden color, oxidative nutty nose with burnt caramel; lime blossom and sour pineapple mark this as sauv blanc; moderately thick body (13.5% abv); a fun academic exercise (how often do you drink 18-year-old Cal sauv blanc?) but not really a wine you need a second bottle of

really like this take on Sauvignon Blanc...made to age. tastes like a really nice sherry--no fruit, amazing thick structure with nice length
