Drink slowly over a couple of hrs. Medium garnet, nose od matured burg, tea leaves, hawthorn and dried red fruits. Quite spicy on a moderately dry tannin backbone, still have balanced acidity but fruits are largely gone. Can't expect a village wine to have the same concentrated to stand the test of time.

Chablis dinner, plus more (GT Fish & Oyster - Chicago IL): Wonderful nose shows earthy spice, hints of red fruit and leathery character. Palate not quite as interesting as the nose, but still retains some robust background spice behind the earthy flavors.

33rd Birthday: The cork extracted cleanly but looked slightly decomposed. Good clarity. Medium red with good clarity. Showed significant oxidation on the nose but the color and palate were ok. A bit vegetal also some nice fruit and leather on the nose and palate.. Moderate tannins with nice acidity and moderately complex finish.

30th Birthday Dinner Redux (Le Gourmand: Seattle, WA): Garned red. The nose is enchanting and complex with saddle leather, red fruits, ripe strawberry, and forest floor. The palate is seductive but with firm tannin. Sweet fruit. Good balance with perfect acidity. A little alcohol peeks through and the hot summer is evident in this wine. A long finish. Very good now and I expect it will hold for a few more years then begin a slow decline.
