The neighbor of José Merens has earned, for a long time, a place in the Olympus of Ribeiro wines and just for his own merits: selection in the vineyard and good work in the winepress, above all honesty and good taste for standing out in his own style, always fresh and appetizing. This 2013 is not an exception. On the nose, the traditional notes of citrus have softened giving way to elegant memories of dried herbs and river boulders. With precision and sense. On the palate it has also calmed down with notes of candied lemon and a slight bitterness. It still retains density, acidity, a good length and a delicious aftertaste. El vecino de José Merens se ha ganado, ya desde hace tiempo, un hueco en el Olimpo de los vinos de Ribeiro por méritos propios: selección en la viña y buen hacer en el lagar, sobretodo honestidad y gusto por destacar en su propio estilo, siempre fresco y apetecible. Este 2013 no es una excepción. En nariz las tradicionales notas a cítricos se han suavizado dejando paso a elegantes recuerdos a hierbas secas y a cantos rodados de río. Con precisión y buen gusto. Al paladar también se ha calmado con notas a limón confitado y de un ligero amargor. Todavía conserva densidad, acidez, una buena longitud y un delicioso postgusto. Este año la bodega ha cumplido treinta años. ¡Felicidades Luis Ángel! Por supuesto que seguiremos bebiendo tus botellas. Séptimo Ribeiro del cuatrimestre.

Interesting wine. I first had it in a tapas restaurant and loved it. Had it last night as an aperitif before Thanksgiving dinner. Wasn't as crazy about it in this setting. It was a little too acidic and angular. I think it wouldwork much better at the table with some rich food.
