  • Still has very nice fruit, but not bursting with fruit. The nose was subtle and the taste was very smooth and well-integrated. It was a nice supplement to steelhead filets, strong enough to stand up to the wild fish, but smooth and elegant.

  • Medium yellow color, not much of a nose. Initially this wine didn't have much of anything. The fruit was wispy and the acidity seemed gone. Also, no stone or earth. After about 30 minutes it perked up and gave a subtle blend of fruits -- mostly mellowed citrus fruits like orange -- and some spice, but it had a real depth of complexity to it. Outshining all other components was a deep and full honeyed mouthfeel -- not sweet, but warming and a bit syrupy. Long finish.

  • Drank with a meal of seared pork fillets in a sweet mustard sauce. The color was a bit darker than normal, but not as much as you might expect from a 19 year old white burgundy. The nose was assertively complex and honeyed fruit. Initially the wine tasted a bit unresolved, but within 15 minutes it was a harmonious whole of many layered fruit complexity with an overriding note of warm honey throughout -- perhaps the vanilla. Spectacular.
