Wine Tasting Group - Farewell to Rae - July 20, 2019 (Michael's M's home): From Carneros, CA. Vermentino made without skin contact and spontaneous partial malolactic fermentation. Aromas of flowers, apples, unripe pears, and mild citrus. Palate is similar with flowers, apples, unripe pears and herbs. Medium bodied with nice acids to give the wine lift. Pretty and drank very nicely. I preferred the "His" which to me had a bit more complexity with skin contact.

Grassy on the nose, with a little white melon, vibrant and alive, rich white melon on the palate, beautifully alive and refreshing but with a surprising amount of weight.

The wine looks straw colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, peach, pear, lychee, honeydew, honeysuckle, peach blossom and honey. The body is light. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Pop & pour, pale clear gold. This is a Vermentino true to Italian heritage. Acidity & herbal/citrus character. Those elements are in excellent balance here. Crisp texture with a freshness that makes it a pleasure to drink. The herbal/leafy layer shows up on the mid palate and makes for a finessed classy wine.
This was lovely and refreshing at a cool temp, but the nuance & complexity really came forward as it warmed up. Enjoyed this immensely.
