  • In a transition period as the fruit slowly subsides and tertiary characters are lurking around the corner. A bit oak is shining through and is still waiting for its integration. Has some backbone left for a few more years.
    Not overly complex but quaffable.

  • When I tasted this, I got the impression that the wine’s style was somewhere in between a former full-bodied, warm and smooth variant of South Australian Shiraz and the more taut, cool-climate style of the Northern Rhône. The bouquet shows notes of blackcurrant, blackberries, plums in milk chocolate, cardamom, licorice, some roast chestnuts and cinnamon. Full-bodied, with racy, crisp acid that helps to provide with much freshness. Notable, polished tannins that retain a light bite, as well as a well-integrated alcohol (14.5%). Flavors of blackberries, plums, leather and chocolate cherries meet with wood, as well as subtle nutty and peppery notes. Nothing fat and overpowering here, but rather compact and contoured and with drive. Long-lasting finish.

Langer Abgang.

  • Its a full bodied Shiraz that I actually don't think is that bad. Everyone else seems to be hating on it though which makes me feel like an outcast

When I decide on a South Australian Shiraz it has all the qualities I look for.
Big mainly plum fruit, lots of oak and length is pretty reasonable
