A pleasant surprise. Cherry notes, with a touch of earthiness. Tannins are as smooth as a baby's bottom. Moderate finish. A complimentary food wine that's more on the restrained side.
It's got plenty of life left ahead of it, but there's no reason not to enjoy it now. Fair value for the $25/half bottle I paid.

Ready to drink. No decanting needed to enjoy this beauty. Medium-bodied, with soft, silky textures, fresh, sweet, round cherries, plum, truffle, licorice and earthy notes are on the nose and palate. This should be at its best over the next 10-12 years.

Think this has great potential but drank too young. It is almost pure merlot, which the color shows. Deep purple/magenta to edge. Legs support alcohol on label (14.5). Nice dark/red fruit mix, also a decided woodiness (can't place). Taste is mix of dark fruit: black currant (very creme de cassis), blackberry, plum, little bit of black pepper, tobacco, dark chocolate. A lot going on there. Finish is pleasant initially, then tannins increasingly grip. I did not decant but note is based on 2nd day tasting.

Wonderfully smooth wine with soft tannins. Opens up after about 30 minutes of air. Great with grilled red meat. Slight hint of lead on the finish.
