This showed such promise in its youth, but it never lived up to its early potential. Being an optimist by nature, I hope that this may present differently, but to be honest this is really not to my taste. I still have half a case remaining. Please note that normally my basement floor for wine ratings has always been 87.

I thought this had so much potential 6 years ago and actually gave it a tentative 94. I should have drunk the whole case in 2016 because its been downhill all the way since. It has ended up a decent glugger, if a little overpriced for this job function. It seems to be stuck in a primary phase, but now with little fruit and exposed tannin. If you had this in a carafe at a bodegas or taverna you would be delighted, but you would be paying a hundredth of the price.

This is in its drinking window, and although it has never lived up to its early promise, this was much improved from a year ago. Everything is firing on full cylinders, and it is highly enjoyable, but the palate is one dimensional and the finish on the shorter side.

Had this the other evening with calves liver and good company. It’s coming into its own. I would say most likely has 3-5 years left. As we all know wine can be finicky. Lady Labrie had a cross to bear but no longer. She’s on her knees, hands folded in prayer. And boy is she delicious.

As per previous notes, this is drinking well, but has never really lived up to its early promise.
