From a bottle purchased at retail late last year. Fill well into the neck and cork soaked only a millimeter or so. PnP. No longer the opulent wine Parker once described it as, this had become an attractive but somewhat staid drink with excellent color but concentration that was borderline thin. It had copious (but ripe) tannins, and there were candied cherries, mushrooms, and a touch of licorice on the nose and the grippy palate. Showing about 70/30 fruit to tertiary notes. Better nearer room temperature than cellar temperature. 13.5% ABV (very good/***/16/91)

A nice wine with good intentions, that is soft, lush, and fruity, with ample licorice, smoke, and cocoa toppings to the ripe plums, but it is a bit short and firm in the finish. Drink 2022-2032.

Full-bodied wine with notes of black currant and smoke. Tannins are noticeable but well-integrated. Went very well with an entrecôte. In an excellent phase right now.
For the 40 CHF I paid per bottle at an auction, this was a steal.

Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; St. Emilion (@ RW): A lot of barnyard and stable smells in the bouquet. On the palate soft herbs and spices, a touch of sweetness, juicy berry fruits, sweet chocolate, good acidity and mild tannin.

Tasty wine. Notes of red berry, currant, kirsch, chocolate, smoke, tar, oak and lots of fine-grained tannins. Delicious with our herbal roast rack of lamb.
Dank well now but could age for 5-10 years.

(CROIX DE LABRIE) Bordeaux Dear Friends, Two years ago, I was offered this wine at $50-60 on 1st tranche pre-arrival...today it is much less and it's already arrived. That's what I would call a down market. In the American consumer's eyes, where vintages are given bizarre blanket generalizations, 2006 is the lost vintage in nearly every region of France - few care about it and even fewer wish to pay for it. Take your pick of regions - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Southern Rhone, Loire, etc only the Northern Rhone gets a reluctant nod despite a terrific year. That brings opportunity for our email list. If you are into everything from Napa Cabernet to Pavie, you should give this a try at a price that speaks for itself: 2006 Chateau Croix de Labrie St. Emilion Grand Cru 750ml Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord7711
