Had pronounced fruit and extraction with a hint of the South African soil. Needed well over an hour to start opening. A bit one note, but pleasant to drink.

A trip to South Africa's Coastal Region with Reni, Rainer and Bert. Day 9, Klein River Valley and Stellenbosch. Tasted at the winery, with hospitable owner and winemaker Nick Gebers.
Dark ruby colour. Ripe red and black fruit, blackberry, cherry, lots of chocolate and spices, with supporting acidity, medium-grained tannin and very good length. Good concentration. I liked the 2017 even better. That said, this 2012 still needs time. Hold. 90(?)

South African Shiraz is definitely gaining more and more attention. It is another good wine I try recently, offers a lot for the 15 Eur, enjoyed over two nights and liked it more on the second, very young now, inky with nice ethereal tones - it is promising for sure, and I myself will keep an eye for whats coming from the region.

Delicious Shiraz with a nice layer of South African terroir. Soft and well-structured. Great to drink and to pair with food.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting - Firehouse in the Heights: Nose of blueberry, black raspberry, pepper, olive, sage. On the palate plum, blackberry, blueberry, pepper. Long finish with plenty of grip. Excellent.
