  • Tasty new world Shiraz with a nice old world sensibility. Clear, deep, almost inky ruby with a garnet-brown rim. Thick, glass-staining legs. The nose is clean, developing, with aromas of black cherry, dried black plum, botanical herbs, smoke and sweet baking spices. The palate is dry, but fruit-forward, consistent with the nose, with medium acidity, medium, smooth, tannins and medium (+) alcohol which belies the 15.5% abv reflected on the label. There’s a nice grip on the medium (+) long, pleasantly bitter finish. It is drinking really well now but has several years of evolution left. Paired really well with beef fajitas and roasted peppers and onions but is just fine by itself if slightly chilled.
