Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Only shows moderate bricking. Quite dark looking. Dusty nose showing cedar and cassis. Clearly mature but only lightly oxidative. Moderate fine tannin. Plenty of acid. Sandalwood, cherry with a touch of caramel. Focused, pure Sonoma Cab versus the warmer Napa version. Picks up richness on the second night just sitting under a cork. A very classic mature Cab from a solid source. The winemaking here is classically refined. This is probably on the cusp of heading off into a more tertiary place. Drinking pretty damn nice right now. It doesn't have the sort of bones to really wow you but it's a damn nice mature Cab for the fans of classic wines.
