Solid merlot. Dark berries, On the the dryer side. I remember liking it more at the tasting room. As another review said it appears to be filtered. Almost looks like a Pinot. I like it!

Tasted at the winery. The server indicated that the 2013 was sold out due to some high score and so they were pouring this "library wine." Dark purple color. Clear, suggesting it was fined or filtered. 95% Merlot with 3% syrah and 2% cabernet sauvignon. The presence of oak is notable, as the nose leans towards vanilla and coffee/toast. Flavors of ripe plums and some chocolate with a round finish with touch of vanilla on the end. While the oak barrel treatment was noticeable, it did provide some added depth and roundness to the wine.
