After having massively enjoyed some 10 bottles of this true to type Beaujolais this wine now comes into a phase where it has shed its upfront fruity redberry tones and has entered a more mature stage. My conclusion is that in order to savour and enjoy the true fruity Beaujolais characteristics it should be consumed within 5 years after the vintage. Nothing wrong with this but if you had to convert someone into Beaujolais this wine at this age won't do the trick.

Color: a bit ruby, but mostly clear red. A bit of toast in the nose. Taste: quite fresh, with good acidity, cherry and strawberry in the finish. No complexity, neither much depth, but a juicy, fresh, quite sweet and balanced wine. The tannins were almost fully resolved. At its top now, or just before it. 87(-88).

Kept under condition 2 since January 2017 (see my profile). Color: very dark (ruby-)brownish purple. Nose: mature notes. Taste: some fruity notes, but dominated by mature notes. Acidity was OK. At the second day a bit more lively. This wine might have been better one year ago. To drink within one, maybe two years, I guess. 87-88.

Nose: quite classy. Taste: nice, rather sweet fruit (raspberries, strawberries), with fine sous-bois and good acidity. Still a bit tannic. Recognizable as made of gamay. A really nice wine. Now better with food than on its own. Can be drunk now, but will probably be a bit better after a year in the cellar. 88+.
