Didn't know it was sangiovese when I tasted it and scratched out "saddle and light cherry". Well, I guess that's sangiovese for me in four words or less. Fine tannins. Came across a little fruit pushing sweet.

A Tour de Force Steve Clifton Tasting (Los Olivos, CA): This one was served too warm so I couldn't get a good read on the bottle. I've enjoyed past vintages as a reasonable "Brunello-equivalent," though I have to confess (unlike with the Palmina Nebbiolo) I would grab an Italian Brunello every time.
