  • This is one of those great under $15 bottles I bought way back when - not sure why I have held on to it this long but I have so there's no need to chide myself for it. I popped the cork and poured ... Colour was still good. I stuck my nose into the glass ... dried fruit maybe a little too much on the sweet side, but still pretty good. Now it's time for the tasting, this is where things can go sideways in a hurry ... smoky-cassis and blackberry with a decent amount of acidity there's even hints of vanilla, chocolate and cedar; there's also lots of dried blackberry, cassis and black cherry with hints of mocha latte on the finish. Overall there's still some good 'wow factor' to this wine considering its price and its age

  • Really pretty awful. I took three sips and poured the rest out.

Side note: There is a flavor that most Chilean cabs share; I'm not sure what it is. Maybe tobacco, tar, or barnyard... In moderation, I really think it's a nice flavor and can add some complexity. It was a huge presence in this bottle.

  • Deep ruby; blackberry jam, plums, slight mint; berry, young, medium body, decent balance, slightly tannic finish.
Nice but just didn't have that oomph the really good ones have. I know, what did I expect for $9.55?
