Costco purchase 3 years ago and cellared. Slow ox’d for 2 hours. Dark garnet color with brown and orange hues. Had with grilled beef and cabbage. Initial take was a complex, oak nose with strong mint. Very good with the beef. Mineral and earthy, iron. chocolate, fig, black cherry… complex palate. This was best on night 3, so likely will improve with more time in cellar. No rush

Delicious medium to full bodied Cab. From Napa this would be twice the price. Rich fruit but with a nice balanced mix of tobacco and green pepper. Good right from the open

Lovely upon opening but it really blossomed after four hour slow-ox. A very herbal potpourri of cedar and thyme balance against a dark fruited backed by dank soil notes (Chile!). Very structured on the palate and definitely has a Left Bank personality with tooth staining tannin. This is lovely and no rush to open either as this should evolve nicely for the medium term as I think it's lacking a touch of acidity to warrant twenty years or so.

Made in a more elegant and finessed style versus the sheer power of a Napa Cabernet. Shows very typical “markers” I associate with many Chilean Cabernet based reds: loamy, charcoal infused earth; steely iron; black coffee and green tobacco; fruits lead with red raspberries, and cherries; and a “present”, but non obtrusive structure (fine grained tannins, acidic backbone, charred oak). Love the evolving complexity, balance and long finish; wish there was a bit more fruit concentration. At 6-1/2 years this is in development, and I suspect more time may be advantageous. Decanted and enjoyed with a grilled ribeye steak and mushrooms. Drink now with a decant or hold through 2026+; although this is great right now, the cool, wet 2016 vintage might impact the long term cellaring potential.

Nose: Resin, graphite, fresh herbs, forest floor, dark fruit. Unique not just to the local terroir but to the continent itself.
Taste: Deep, rich, balanced black fruit with gentle layers of tobacco smoke, then delineates into mid-pallet minerality. Chimes in with tones of red fruit and spice going towards the finish but still this is mostly a dark, brooding wine. Amazing quality, finish lasts 30 seconds. The best Chilean Cabernet I’ve probably ever had and I've been championing their wines for a while.
