Dark Mahogany color, exquisite smell and taste! On the nose Floor polish; quite high-toned. On palate tangy, mineral with a sweetness that is not protruding but nicely balanced by the underlying acidity.Top Score! This was something truly special, with an unending finish. Everybody around the table adored it.

Opened for four hours before pouring, not decanted but opened up nicely. Buttery caramel, lingered on the tongue for a full minute. Wonderful to drink right now but will last decades more. Out of several vintages, this one is the most buttery I've tasted, definitely less alcohol burn than the 1885 and 1934 I've tasted.

Opened and decanted, first glass impressions: a touch high in VA, on the palate, sweet without enough acid to balance it out. Later, the acid came foward, and lingered on the finish. Overall, good balance, and a good value in young vintage madeira. I'll update over the next few weeks or months as I finish the bottle.

Caramel and raisins with lovely balanced taste. Long lasting in the mouth. Had open for two years with a sip now and again.

Tour and Madeira Tasting at Vinhos Barbeito (Funchal): Meat extract, high acidity but in check, wonderful balance, a lovely, rich Malvazia.
