2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): Beautiful complex nose displaying rich concentrated black fruit, blackberry liqueur, black cherry, sap, more developed sous bois, floral perfume, dark spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of rich concentrated black fruit, rich yet silky and fluid, beautiful balance and detail, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long generous black fruit driven finish with a hint of sap at the end. It is fascinating to compare with the regular cuvee. This developed a bit more sous bois and slightly richer. Overall, I find them very similar. If you wish to try a textbook high end Vosne, this will be an excellent choice.

Decanted into the duck shortly before dinner. This was pretty closed but did become a tad approachable after an hour or so of air. Silky, chalky red fruit, caramel, violet, light cinammon spice, stem notes. Weightless and refined, but holding back a lot, and mouthwatering acidity at times. Wouldn’t advise opening a bottle until at least 2025+ for 94-96 range.

Domaine de Montille Cellar Visit and Tasting (Meursault Burgundy France): Barrel tasting at domaine. An exceptional wine in the making. Great spice with red and black cherry throughout. Dense and well textured, this is already starting to show layers of complexity. 94-96 point potential here.

Not corked, not heat damaged, but nonetheless tasted dead and stayed that way over about 2 hours.
