Weekly tasting group #009; Bordeaux 2006 plus a few pirates. (@ BD): Light garnet. The bouquet is not very expressive, but there is some chocolate and some smoky oak. Overall a pleasant bouquet. On the palate nicely mature and dissolved tannin, some chocolate again, spices, caramel and good acidity. Creamy and earthy as well. Tasted completely blind this was a revelation. A 1975 Pomerol…..! It is so much alive still. In the glass for a while it faded quite quickly, but nevertheless; a great experience. Immidiately from the bottle I scored it 89, but that would have gone quickly down. So I don't score it "officially".
