Dark red fruit, earth, light plum, blackberry, as others note. Agree with the softness of the palate, could use a bit more acidity, but still has balanced character. More fruit than minerality. Bit of herb and wood. I'd say drink up.

White pepper, cherry, anise on the nose. Deep inky color, beautiful dark maroon. Palate is rich and satisfying but not cloying - the Pinot Noir softens it enough to keep it from crossing the line. Blackberry, cranberry, more white pepper, and coriander on the palate. Surprising wine! Our bartender just randomly brought it to us as a sample - never would've noticed it on our own.

restaurant purchase. this one is intense, with thick dark fruit and spice. structure is there, but totally buried by the dense ripe (but not overly so) fruit. I have had a number of different vintages of this wine, and so far this is the richest softest version that I can remember. wondering if they are all like this in youth, and plan to try again in a year or two.
