  • Very similar strong sweet tobacco/tonka bean aroma from, I presume, new French oak as in some of Molettieri's Taurasi wines. Not a fan of that... I much preferred the 2011 iteration of this wine.

  • Appearance - medium ruby. I'm not that familiar with this varietal, however, it looks lighter than I would ordinarily expec from Italian grape.

Nose - medium plus intensity, getting black fruits but lots of oak. Oak and fruit in equal measure. Cedar closet. Lots of cinnamon

Palate - same as nose. Taste more alcohol than apparent on nose. More wood than fruit bomb but strong fruit.

I like it, sense it is still young, curious to see how a wine like this might develop. It's a 2009 yet sort of tastes like a 2013 wine. Medium plus acidity, medium tannins.
