A wonderful surprise this wine Still very dark in color The nose is powerful and all about rich black cherries On the palate the wine is rich, round dark fruit with some fine, slightly spicy tannins suggesting at least several more excellent years ahead of it. The finish is persistent The best wine of perhaps a dozen I've had from this producer over the years

P&P as part of a 2013 horizontal of the single vineyard blends (Apogee, Perigee, Ferguson). This was my favorite of the 3, showing outstanding flavors right from the pop. Black cherry, fig, tobacco, dark chocolate, oak and cola flavors. Drink now - 2028.

Having a glass from a newly opened bottle at the L’Ecole Heritage tasting room. Slightly lighter in body to the same vintage Apogee and seems like lower acid, but tannins are becoming more evident the longer we sit here. Medium finish. Probably a decent match for roasted pork with seasoning or pan sauce.

Such restrained beauty at the decade mark. I think the cab component of this gives it easily another 5 yrs. Among L’Ecole’s best.
