Sous le Château is regarded as the best vineyard of Saint-Romain, and Olivier Leflaive treated it the same as their Premier Crus: 12 months in 20% new oak. There is an impressive floral freshness and bracing minerality to this wine, juicy apple and creamy citrus fruit, light and lively (12.5% ABV) but with good flavour intensity, oak has been absorbed perfectly, very good length. Good stuff, good value. At La Maison d’Olivier Leflaive, Puligny-Montrachet, France.
