  • Compared with Escarpment Chardonnay 2018 (see separate note), this wine needs time in the glass. 13.5% ABV compared to the 12.5% of the Escarpment.
    Colour: light gold, bright, clear.
    Nose: full, fresh, v ripe,
Taste: light/med body, rounded, ripe, quite hot, good young fruit, notable acidity, long finish, v dry, stone fruits.
Overall, an enjoyable wine. At twice the price of the Escarpment, which is very Burgundian (Meursault) in style, it has to fight to justify itself.

  • Absolutely love these White Burgundies from Saint Romain! Butter, lime, and vegetable elements on the nose. An absolute lovely texture is this wine’s highlight! Camomile and butter on the palate, with a nice balance of acidity and sweetness. Medium finish. Very good QPR @ £24.
