Good concentration in the nose that screams, “Burgundy!!” On the palate, there are wild strawberries, iron, tannins, and (oddly enough) pears (which also appears on the palate on the second sip). A hint of "caramel" (but way more complex than that) that evolves in secondary nuances, including a bit of wonderful mushroom and earthy Burgundy "stink." Good finish that echoes those secondary flavors but not long for a 1er cru at nine years. Very nice and pretty much at peak and I can’t see this improving further, especially given the vintage. I'd say finish up in the next year or two. That said, this would be a gastronome’s perfect Thanksgiving wine this year.

Opened up and smelled strawberries. Light to medium body, tastes like berries with a floral element. Tannins are soft, the finish is short but food. Got some iron after a bit if swirling, and a tanginess, followed by earth.

Fresh astringency and strong but balanced tannins. Earthy. Not surprisingly, took over an hour of swirling in glass to open up. Good concentration in the middle but isn't really revealing itself yet. My instincts say giving this 3-4 years to try again and drink for up to five years more. Added a point and lengthened the drinking window as the wine improved its earthiness, fruit and strong middle after several days under Coravin.

Not as exciting as I would have hoped, but plenty enjoyable nonetheless. Loads of black cherry and pepper on the nose and palate. 1-hour decant.
