På doften var jag i Bordeaux och funderade, väldigt fatad med nästintill port toner, russin, syltighet och fikon främst. Inget man testat innan men ingen favorit

Drank 3 times over a 5 day period using a Coravin,. Day #1 : slightly muted nose, lots of slow tears, medium+ body, brick red w/orange rim, very tannic. Day #2 : nose significantly better, floral, earthy, dancing acidity Day #3 : nose was of soft rose petal, tart cherry, cranberry, some leather, almost Burgundian. Enters the palate with finesse, notes of sour cherry, spice, medium+ finish. Very enjoyable.

Lost for words - this came as a huge surprise. From the first "sniff" in the glass - this wine was all about raising eyebrows, focus and attention. While the nose of this wine clearly screams Baroloooo, there is still a weird twist to the nose, that I still can't explain. A twist which makes this wine stand out BIG TIME! A much darker fruit-profile compared to other Barolos - both on the nose and on the palate. Throw in a bunch of flowers, a pinch of vanilla and sweet pibe-tobacco - Wow, wow, wow!....

Yet another wide open 2011 Barolo, This is a modern expression with some new oak that doesn’t feel like it belongs in Piemonte, but also a lovely sweet perfumed nose with all the classic Nebbiolo characteristics. As air hits the glass it slowly starts to descend into more classic territory, even some VA perhaps but mostly it’s about the fruit. Very nice.

The bottle was unfortunately way past its prime. Imploded, Balsamico..
