A "dry, elegant, claret style zin" per tasting.com, but not my favorite style of zin. Lovely nose (promising more than it delivers, perhaps), harmonious and well made, good acidity and nice cherry and berry fruit, but awfully light. At this price, especially for a zin, I do expect a bit more in-your-face pizzazz.

This is the complete opposite of the jammy, high alcohol, New World style. The nose is Beaujolais-like in its dusty, red berry and cigar box notes that smell sweet and a touch roasted. Fruity, almost weightless in the mouth, very feminine, yet retains nice balance and deceptive complexity. A sprinkle of brown sugar on the finish. Pretty.

Tasted blind. Halloween night at Chateau Davyd. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of sweet spices, red cherries, chalky earth, light touch of integrated vanilla oak. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet black cherries, red velvet cake, chalky earth, licorice. Long finish. Good quality. Elegant pleasing style. Not for further ageing. I was actually guessing a New World possiby NZ Pinot Noir. Soft and lacking oomph. Ridge's Zinfandel blends would trample all over this and crush it.

Pop and pour, early acidic taste blew off after about 15 min in glass. Good fruit flavor, decent finish.

OK but nothing about it was special.
Had quite a bit left over for second day, and not much change.
But not a disappointment as it is not overpriced
