(VON HOVEL OBEREMMELER HUTTE KABINETT RIESLING) #2; COLOR-golden edges, frisante; NOSE-so fresh, very lively: mango-pineapple-papaya-lemongrass-orange curd, an ocean of fruit, unbelievable nose; TASTE-pineapple, crisp, clean, seamless, waves of flavor: mango, pineapple, extraordinary wine, severely under priced (like a $45 bottle of chardonnay), $16 is a JOKE; Dry w/ tons of fruitiness; WS-92; GV-91

Rockss and Fruit

(Von Hovel Oberemmeler Hutte Riesling Kabinett) This is a monopole and has to be one of the most underrated sites in all of the Saar. Nose of lemon curd, white flowers, intense wet slate, cream and apricots. Palate is concentrated and ripe with wonderful piquant acidity and lush fruit that echoes on the finish. The fruit is very stoney and the interplay between fruit and mineral is striking. A delight.
