This is a well structured wine with slightly restrained fruit flavors. Smooth wine with a medium finish. Certainly a step up from the usual Beaujolais villages that I have tried before.

Il est encore un peu monobloc. Mais, on reconnaît la typicité du Morgon de façon indéniable. Le fruit est sans fard, adoubé de notes terriennes et la finale très poivrée. Une autre année et on pourra parler d'aubaine.

EDITED 12.9 - Sometimes you just get it wrong, and I got this wrong. I clearly didn't let this breathe enough the other day when I first opened the bottle. Two days after being opened, this wine blossomed beautifully. Very smooth, very fruity, none of the defects that I noticed on the 7th. Rating changed from an 80 to an 88, just decant or let it breathe at least 2 hours before drinking. An aerator was not nearly enough.
ORIGINAL: A perfectly acceptable red but for me it was nothing special. Starts off with a refreshing mouthfeel but then dries out quickly. A slight buttery flavor early levels off quickly. Describes itself as well-balanced but it wasn't especially smooth to my palate. Nothing wrong with it, a decent drink, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. To be fair, it appears I drank this early - a Morgon takes 4-5 years to properly age into its flavor profile, so this should have been cellared for a couple more years to give a proper tasting.
