Another POXED Boillot 14. The track record with this producer is terrible. The highs though unfortunately can be so good, it's easy to get sucked in. Why they don't use diam is a true mystery.

Smashing good wine lunch at San Shu Gong. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of integrate toasty oak, stony minerality, ripe citrus fruits. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), rounded medium+ body. Medum+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe citrus lemon drops, Meyer lemons, orange pulp, peaches, stone fruits, honeyed nut, integrated toast oak, and an intense saltiness - salty wet sotnes minerality. Long finish. Very good quality. Just the right touch of cream integrated oak to round off the edges while still retaining balance. Expressive palate. Drinking a good place already. Doesn't feel like it needs anything longer than 3-4 years more.

Second Sunday Group: 2013 Barolo (Neil's): Our host is a big fan of this vintage overall, and this is yet another example of why. Lemon and mineral notes abound. Some orchard fruit as well. Terrific weight across the palate. Long finish. Gorgeous.

Very smooth and elegant structure. Mix of lots of white fruit, mainly peaches, and some hint of vanilla. Dominated by some lemon aromas, for me too much lemon and therefore not really in balance. But definitely a great wine.
