Lovely aromatic notes of honey and walnuts but harsh sour aftertaste. Leaving half to try tomorrow to see if any improvement but likely an off bottle. Judgement reserved for now but disappointing so far.
Tried again next day. Still acting like a sourpuss but has lightened up slightly. Nose still has the honey aromas. On the palate the taste is stone like. Feels like a bit of a beast which hasn’t been entirely tamed yet….conclusion is off bottle despite my best efforts to deny. Have 5 more so let’s see.

Faaaaaaack. Early advanced. It has this sour, bitter oxidized/boytris/almond note at the end of the very long and otherwise gorgeous mouthfeel. As a wine, overall it is insane. It's unbelievably minerally driven with tremendous acidity and still a round generous richness on the palate all wrapped up in one of the most powerful and awe inspiring packages I’ve ever had in a Perrieres. No joke, blind I would have guessed it was a Montrachet. BUT, this overly ripe, bitter note at the end of the finish is 100% early advanced notes. This is headed to premox. It's like the wine is about to blow my doors off and leave me staggering and all of a sudden after this long seamless finish it turns left and ruins each sip at the very very end of it. Boillot's Perrieres has to be among the most powerful Perrieres made. I have to see a mature version of this wine that's not premox. It could live for 50 years with this level of acidity and minerality. It's an absolute monster.

A second flawed bottle in as many days. Low aromatics, watery body and acidic taste. WTF.
