Masterclass in palate precision. With every sip, the wine doesn't miss - you get wave and wave of precise spice and mineral (iron?) laden red fruit. Exceptional purity of fruit - transparent and detailed. Meo does an exceptional job of transmitting the site into the glass with this Corton Les Perrières - a very terroir driven wine. Some might find this even austere - the structure is acid driven along with a mineral spine and fine tannin. The earth and spice builds with time in the glass with the taut red fruit in the background. What else? The length - it goes on forever - you can taste the start, middle and end every sip. It's got many more years ahead.

Decanted for 2 hours. Served blind in a flight of 4 wines. My #4 and Groups #4 ranked wine. Very reserved and lean on the nose, with some black currant, earth, slight stem spice and a little VA (could be from rot due to a Sukukii fly infestation that hit this vineyard). Tannic and lean, very strict Corton fruit that was clenched and drying on the palate. Some salinity in the texture, but this is very "Corton" and will require patience.

Similar to the Rognets, I think this will be accessible early (for the climat). Similar to prior head-to-head comparisons between the two, I prefer the Perrieres for its mineral nature and the relative elegance it brings to Corton. From barrel.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Slightly more red than dark fruit with good spice hints. Good density and power, but nicely and elegantly styled. Very good overall. Cellar at least another decade.

Friday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Anne Gros & Méo-Camuzet (Vosne-Romanée): Tasting at the domaine. Black and red cherry on nose and palate with faint spice, more pronounced sauvage. Good+ for its level, but I certainly prefer the Rognet.
