Sixpenny with the GMs: Cherry and redcurrant, rosemary and slate. Fine tannin, suave and controlled red fruits. I've found Meo-Camuzet a bit hit or miss but this was a hit.

Served blind. Quite dark but palate not enough for CdN, guessed Corton given the weight. Toasty and just too dark. Meo? Weaker vintage, 06? Really hard to place the age; disappointed with this cuvee as last time. 90-91

A Birthday Celebration (Taste 222 - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Rich aromatic start, but didn't quite deliver the same on palate. Didn't come across as enjoyable or balanced vs last time tasted a few months ago. Clearly needs time.

Blind Tasting Burgundies from Well-Known Producers (The Wolf, Oakland): Just not ready yet, even with two hours in the decanter and another back in the bottle under cork. Currently comes off as narrow, even pinpoint, and intense with a crispness and depth. I can imagine the elegant wine that will emerge in 5+ years but my score can't grant it that benefit of the doubt. Drink 2021-2030.

Fine Vines Fall 2018 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Floral start with red cherry and savory spice. Good density and length, slightly firm finish detracts from perfect balance.
