Went from an Evening Land to this and I feel like this wine is lost between Willamette and Sonoma. It's just not bold enough if you're looking for fruity CA Pinot. Someone mentioned bitter and I can't lose that description. Definitely bitter, but not young bitter or tart...it's just bitter. Not crazy about it...I'll buy more Kanzler for about the same price point.

Annual Customer Appreciation Tasting 2016: Less dense and structured than previous vintages (like '06), and pales in comparison to estate Pisoni (which we drank last night), still good, just a little thin

Tasted at a walk around in store tasting. Large glassware, fairly small pour. This was a lighter and more elegant version compared to a few years earlier. Change in style or just a different vintage? I liked it but was a little surprised. I was able to go back and retaste with a similar impression.

Medium-dark red. Brooding, earthy spice predominates some very ripened cherry and blackberry.

Even though a Pinot needs to be decanted. Or sit on it for a few more years.
