Saw posts about this wine being “hot.” Well, I guess so at 15.3% alcohol, so we brought out the Reidel XLs to keep the alcohol away from our noses. It exudes red fruits; currants, blackberries, and blueberries. There is a slight hint of grassiness, but in a pleasant way. Leather notes round out the nose. There is a hint of astringency if you inhale just before your sip, but that dissolves away into soft tannins and a mellow swallow. I would have rated it higher, but it ends with a lingering dry taste if you finish it after your meal.

Popped and poured from split. This is a deep red wine with some light sediment (bit more at the end). On the nose, I get ripe currant, various oak influences, and a flash of heat. In the mouth, this is fruity and open; the overarching aspect is blueberries, although the alcohol does peek through at points. The finish kicks it through with more dark fruits and wood. Overall, this is a ripe and loaded Cab. It leans slightly hot, so perhaps is a touch too loaded. I would finish in the next 5 years or so. 90 points.

Tons of lift in the glass with bright acidity and red fruits and a hint of menthol. This has many years ahead of it

Inky purple, polished, velvety smooth. Tannins may need a little more time to fully integrate
