Bordeaux/Cabernet with Special Guest Lail (Orsay): My favorite from a long term perspective across all of the vintages and I think most ppl in the group's favorite as well. These were opened around 5:30 pm and we probably got to drinking then around 7 pm. This just kept opening in the glass becoming very much like a fig jam by the end. Hints of spice. Drinking nicely but really needs a lot more time.

A big California Cab that has plenty of life to it. Meaty with red fruits to start. Still noted tannins on the finish. You can cellar this for another few years.

Nose is quite a bit more expressive than the 2016 Lail yet I still feel like it's closed down.
Nose of pencil shavings, earth, blue and red fruit. Getting hints of tomato leaf.
On the palate currants, crushed granite and hints of tobacco.
More restrained than Dominus and grows more and more tannic with air.
I would hold if you can although it's far more ready to drink than it's 2016 counterpart.
